1. Parábola do Semeador (Mateus 13:3-9)

3 And he spoke many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went forth to sow;

4 and when he sowed, some [of the seed] fell beside the way, and the fowls came and devoured them up.

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth; and forthwith they sprang up because they had no deepness of earth;

6 and when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up and choked them.

8 But some fell into good ground and brought forth fruit: one a hundredfold and another sixtyfold and another thirtyfold.

9 [He] who has ears to hear, let him hear.

2. O Bom Samaritano (Lucas 10:25-37)

25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? How readest thou?

27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy strength and with all thy understanding, and thy neighbour as thyself.

28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right; do this, and thou shalt live.

29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

30 And Jesus answering said, A certain [man] went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment and wounded [him] and departed, leaving [him] half dead.

31 And it so happened that a certain priest came down that way; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 And likewise a Levite, when he came near the place and looked [on him, he] passed by on the other side.

33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was; and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion

34 and went to [him] and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two denarius and gave [them] to the host and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go and do thou likewise.

3. A Ovelha Perdida (Lucas 15:4-7)

4 What man of you having a hundred sheep if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost until he finds it?

5 And when he has found [it], he lays [it] on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he comes home, he calls together [his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you that likewise there shall be more joy in heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine just persons, who need no repentance.

4. O Filho Pródigo (Lucas 15:11-32)

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons;

12 and the younger of them said to [his] father, Father, give me the portion of the estate that falls [to me]. And he divided unto them [his] living.

13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country and there wasted his estate with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he longed to fill his belly with the husks that the swine ate, but no one gave [them] unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have abundance of bread, and I perish [here] with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee

19 and am no longer worthy to be called thy son; make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in thy sight and am no longer worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe and put [it] on him and put a ring on his hand and shoes on [his] feet

23 and bring here the fatted calf and kill [it], and let us eat and be merry;

24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come, and thy father has killed the fatted calf because he has received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry and would not go in, therefore his father came out and intreated him.

29 And he, answering, said to [his] father, Behold, these many years I have served thee, neither at any time have I transgressed thy commandment; and yet thou never gavest me a kid that I might make merry with my friends.

30 But as soon as this thy son was come who has devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed the fatted calf for him.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art always with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was necessary that we should make merry and be glad, for this thy brother was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.:

A parábola do filho pródigo fala sobre o perdão e o amor incondicional de Deus por Seus filhos, mesmo quando se desviam.

5. A Pérola de Grande Valor (Mateus 13:45-46)

45 Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls,

46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

6. O Fariseu e o Publicano (Lucas 18:9-14)

9 And he spoke this parable unto some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others:

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee that I am not as other men [are]: extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast two [meals] every sabbath; I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God, reconcile me, a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other; for anyone that exalts himself shall be humbled, and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

7. Os Talentos (Mateus 25:14-30)

14 For [it is] like a man travelling into a far country, [who] called his own servants and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each one according to his faculty, and straightway took his journey.

16 And after he was gone, he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same and made another five talents.

17 And likewise he that [had received] two, he also gained another two.

18 But he that had received one went and dug in the earth and hid his lord's money.

19 And after a long time the lord of those servants came and reckoned accounts with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, Lord, thou didst deliver unto me five talents; behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou didst deliver unto me two talents; behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he who had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown and gathering where thou hast not scattered;

25 therefore, I was afraid and went and hid thy talent in the earth; behold, thou hast what is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, [Thou] wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I have not scattered;

27 therefore, it was expedient for thee to have put my money to the bankers, and [then] at my coming I should have received mine own with interest.

28 Take, therefore, the talent from him and give [it] unto him who has ten talents.

29 For unto every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance, but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

8. O Rico e Lázaro (Lucas 16:19-31)

19 There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day;

20 and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate, full of sores

21 and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom; the rich man also died and was buried;

23 and in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime didst receive thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted [here], and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who would pass from here to you cannot; neither can they pass from there to us.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou would send him to my father's house,

28 for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, No, father Abraham; but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, [even] though one rose from the dead.:

A parábola alerta sobre as consequências de negligenciar os necessitados e viver para si mesmo. Também destaca a realidade do julgamento e da vida após a morte.

9. O Joio e o Trigo (Mateus 13:24-30)

24 He put forth another parable unto them, saying, The kingdom of the heavens is likened unto a man who sows good seed in his field

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went away.

26 But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then the tares appeared also.

27 So the servants of the husband of the house came and said unto him, Lord, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? From where then does it have tares?

28 He said unto them, [The] enemy, a man, has done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, No, lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.

10. As Dez Virgens (Mateus 25:1-13)

1 Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be likened unto ten virgins who, taking their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were prudent, and five [were] foolish.

3 Those that [were] foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them;

4 but the prudent took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the prudent, Give us of your oil, for our lamps are going out.

9 But the prudent answered, saying, Lest there be not enough for us and you, but go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and those that were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.

11 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch, therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes.
